Deborah Kosnett:

A Passion for Storytelling,

One Page at a Time

Deborah has a beautiful voice

and a gift for performing.

                                                     â€‹

When it comes to audiobooks, the first thing you have to understand about Deborah is that she’s an incurable bookworm (she prefers the term “book dragon,” actually). As a young girl, she predictably read every Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew book she could get her hands on, but she was also drawn to science fiction, fantasy, and speculative novels: tales by Madeleine L’Engle, Andre Norton, Issac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Robert A. Heinlein, J.R.R. Tolkien. She’s read thousands upon thousands of books in her lifetime, including, in the last few years, hundreds of audiobooks. And that, dear reader, is where her audiobook narration adventure began. Captivated by the tales she was listening to, resolved to recount those stories herself, in her own unique voice.

Armed with serious acting chops, a velvety alto voice, and the rare patience to sit in a tiny closet recording booth for hours on end, Deborah breathes life into every book she narrates. Her characters jump off the page, fully-formed personalities moving through a story they don’t yet know the ending of.

Deborah loves and will narrate just about every genre: thrillers, procedurals, horror, science fiction and fantasy, romance, cozy mysteries, literary fiction, and historical novels. She’s currently working on her third Holocaust novel, “What Remains is Hope,” slated to come out this fall. She will  narrate nonfiction, but is picky about the subject – generally, it has to be something she has an affinity for.

A theatre graduate, Deborah fondly remembers her community theatre and light opera days, as well as her 5-year stint as a radio newscaster. Currently, she splits her time between Florida and Colorado. She and her husband are owned by 2 rescue cats, and have way more books than they currently have space for.

If you'd like Deborah to narrate your audiobook, just schedule a free 15 minute consultation. That's it!  No pressure! You can talk about your favorite audiobooks if you like, or what you like to write about!

Oh, and in case you were wondering . . .

Deborah still listens to audiobooks nearly every day, and she definitely has her own favorite narrators. The guys she likes to listen to: Ray Porter, Wil Wheaton, Joshua Jackson, Zachary Quinto, Sean Pratt. Female narrator favorites include Zara Ramm, Julia Whelan, Bahni Turpin, Tesni Kujore.
